Open versus enclosed transport
Open transport is the standard: your car rides on the same style of multi-level carrier that delivers new vehicles to dealerships. It is the most affordable option and fine for the vast majority of daily drivers, though the car is exposed to weather and road dust in transit.
Enclosed transport puts your vehicle inside a hard-sided trailer. It costs meaningfully more and makes sense for classics, low-clearance sports cars, and high-value vehicles where a stone chip is not an acceptable risk. We will tell you honestly which option your car actually needs.

The usual play is scheduling vehicle pickup a day or two before you fly or drive out of San Diego, so the car lands close to when you do.
