How our pod service works
It runs in three moves. We schedule a delivery and set the container where you want it, on the driveway, in front of the garage, wherever access allows. You load it at your own pace, days or weeks, no meter running on a truck. When you are ready, we pick it up and it goes where you tell us: into secure storage, on to your new address anywhere in San Diego County, or it simply stays at your place as on-site storage while a remodel or a staging project runs its course.
The containers themselves are built for this: 8 feet long by 5 feet wide by 7 feet high, roughly 40 square feet of packing floor each. They are wood-bodied rather than steel, which matters more than it sounds: wood breathes and helps regulate humidity, which reduces the risk of mold and mildew on furniture and fabrics, and there is nothing to rust or corrode. Most one-bedroom homes fit in one to two containers; a full house typically runs three or four.
Straight pod pricing, no decoder ring
Storage runs per container, per month: $198 month to month, or $178 a month when you book a 12-month term. A one-bedroom in two containers is $396 a month with zero commitment; a full four-container house runs $712 to $792 a month depending on term. Delivery and pickup is $198 round trip, and we waive the initial delivery when your storage runs four months or longer.
Load it yourself, or hand it to the crew
Here is where a moving company doing pods beats a storage company doing them: the crew. Load it yourself if you like, that is the whole point of a pod. But if you want it done in two hours instead of two weekends, the same movers who load our trucks will load your container: tight tiers, weight low and spread, furniture padded and shrink-wrapped, every section strapped before the doors close. A pod only protects what cannot move inside it.
Same offer on the far end. When your container lands at the new place, our crew can unload it and put furniture where it belongs instead of where gravity leaves it.
Stored here, not lost somewhere
Containers we pick up go into our secure San Diego facility, and your stuff stays reachable: give us two hours notice and you can get into your container any day between 10 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon, no charge for the visit. Delivery and pickup run countywide, from Chula Vista up through Carlsbad, Escondido, and El Cajon.
And if you already rented a container from someone else, PODS, 1-800-Pack-Rat, U-Haul U-Box, Zippy Shell, we will still load or unload it for you the same way. The container is the box; the loading is the craft.
