Packing is where moves go sideways: it takes twice as long as anyone plans, and bad boxes are how things break. Our San Diego packing crews do it in hours with materials built for the job, then unpack on the other end if you want.
Full packs, partial packs, and just the hard rooms
A full-service pack usually happens the day before your move. The crew packs every room, labels each carton by room and contents, and leaves your home ready for loading, so move day starts with carrying instead of taping.
Partial packing is our most popular option. Most people can box books and linens themselves; it is the kitchen, the garage, and the art wall that eat a weekend and produce casualties. Tell us which rooms scare you and we pack only those.
You can also book packing on its own. Some customers use our packers before a container move or a family truck run. Either way the crews are background-checked Gorilla Movers employees, the same people who have handled 25,120+ moves since 2008.

Unpacking and box removal
Unpacking is the half of the service people forget exists. Our crew empties cartons onto counters, shelves, and closet rods, reassembles what we disassembled, and hauls away the flattened boxes and packing paper the same day, so you are not living in a cardboard maze for a month.
Many customers book unpacking for the kitchen only, which turns the most annoying room in the new house into a finished one by dinner time.
What packing services cost in San Diego
Packing is billed as an hourly crew rate plus materials, both itemized. A kitchen-only pack is a few hours; a full 3-bedroom pack is usually a full crew day. Combined pack-and-move jobs are quoted together so you see the whole picture at once.
These are hourly estimates unless we survey: binding quotes are locked in with a free on-site survey, which is worth doing on any full pack. Fuel on the moving portion is charged and itemized up front.
