Heavy Equipment Movers San Diego

A 1,200 pound machine does not care how strong your crew is. It cares whether they planned the path. Gorilla Movers relocates gym, medical and industrial equipment across San Diego with the gear and the patience the weight demands.

Planning beats muscle

Every heavy move starts with three numbers: weight, dimensions and center of gravity. Then we walk the route. Door widths, thresholds, ramp angles, elevator capacity, floor loading, turns that look fine on paper and are not. By the time the crew arrives, the path is already solved and protected.

The tools do the lifting. Machine skates, toe jacks, heavy-duty dollies, ramps and ratchet rigging move weight in controlled inches instead of heroic shoves. Floors get masonite or ram board, door frames get padding, and the machine gets wrapped before it rolls one foot.

Gorilla Movers truck loaded with heavy equipment

Heavy equipment we move in San Diego

Commercial gym equipment: treadmills, plate-loaded machines, squat racks and full facility relocations
Medical and dental equipment: exam tables, chairs and imaging support equipment
Light industrial machinery: mills, lathes, compressors and shop equipment
Printing and production equipment
Commercial kitchen equipment: ranges, ovens, walk-in components and prep lines
Safes and other single, stubborn, very heavy objects

How a heavy equipment move works

Anything unusual gets a free on-site survey, and survey quotes are binding, so the price is settled before the toe jacks come out. Your equipment technician handles disconnects, decommissioning and recalibration; we handle everything between the old pad and the new one, including placement and leveling where the manufacturer allows it.

If a piece genuinely needs a crane or a specialized millwright, we say so at the survey instead of discovering it in your doorway. Most equipment in gyms, clinics and light industrial shops does not, and that honesty is why facility managers keep our number.

Who you are trusting with the weight

Gorilla Movers has moved San Diego since 2008: 25,120+ moves, a 4.8 star average across 289 Google reviews, BBB A+, CAL T-192729 and USDOT 3801918. Crews are our own background-checked, uniformed employees, never day labor, and certificates of insurance for your building are standard.

On move day you get a live-tracking text so your facility is not waiting on a mystery ETA, and $5 from the job goes to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Call 619-600-5000 and describe the machine; we will tell you exactly how we would move it.

FAQ

Heavy Equipment questions, answered.

How heavy can you go?
With skates, toe jacks and ramps, our crews routinely handle items into the thousands of pounds. The honest limit depends on the path as much as the weight, which is why heavy pieces get a free on-site survey and a binding quote before we commit.
Do you disconnect and reconnect the equipment?
No. Utilities, decommissioning and recalibration belong to your equipment technician or a licensed trade. We coordinate timing with them so the machine is ready to roll when we arrive and ready for reconnection the moment it lands.
Will you move a single item, like one safe or one treadmill?
Yes. Single-item heavy moves are a normal day for us, priced hourly with fuel itemized up front. Send photos, dimensions and the two addresses, and we can usually quote quickly.
Can you relocate an entire gym or clinic?
Yes. Full-facility moves are where planning matters most: teardown order, transport sequencing and a floor plan for the new space so equipment lands placement-ready. Those projects get an on-site survey and a binding quote.
What happens if a job really needs a crane?
We tell you up front. Some machinery belongs to crane and millwright contractors, and pretending otherwise damages equipment and buildings. We will identify it at the survey and can coordinate our crew around that scope.
How is heavy equipment moving priced?
Hourly for straightforward items, with fuel itemized up front. Binding quotes are locked in with a free on-site survey, which we require for the largest and most complex pieces.
