Ocean Beach Movers Who Get How OB Works
OB kept the beach-town bones the rest of the coast traded away: craftsman cottages, sixties walk-ups, alleys doing the work of driveways. Our crews have moved people here for years and know that curb space is the whole battle.
Ocean Beach cottages have doorways and porch steps that decide what will actually fit, and the street parking is a Tetris game. Gorilla Movers scouts both, checks the Wednesday farmers market against your date, and plans the hillside streets running toward Point Loma. Apartment moves, small moves, house moves and packing. Licensed CAL T-192729. Call 619-600-5000.
The OB specifics our crews plan around.
Cottage doorways and porch steps
Pre-war cottages were not drawn around modern sofas. We measure the tight spots during the quote and wrap and angle accordingly, so nothing gets forced.
Street parking Tetris
Curb space in OB is scarce and jealously held. We scout truck position ahead of time and arrive early enough to claim it, because the carry length depends on it.
Wednesday farmers market
The OB farmers market closes Newport Avenue on Wednesday afternoons. Moves near the footprint book around it, or in the morning before it sets up.
Hillside streets toward Point Loma
The climb off the flats is steep and fast. Hillside moves get chocked wheels, planned staging, and a crew that has worked these grades before.
A beach town that never went corporate.
Ocean Beach housing is old, and old is the point. The cottages and bungalows off Newport and up the numbered streets come with narrow doorways, steep porch steps, and driveways built for Model As if they exist at all. Our crews measure, wrap, and carry accordingly, and the quote asks about access before move day makes it a surprise.
The apartment stock is its own study: sixties and seventies walk-ups where the second-floor carry is a fact of life and the parking situation is permanent street Tetris. We plan the truck position during the quote, and on Wednesdays we plan around the farmers market too, which takes over Newport Avenue in the afternoon.
Up the hill toward Point Loma the streets climb fast, and a move from a hillside street means brake checks, wheel chocks, and a crew that has done it before. Ours has, for years, and the same crew culture that fits OB fits the customers: on time, no attitude, no surprise charges.

“Gorilla movers did a fantastic job moving my mother in Oceanside. Raul was incredible. From the moment he arrived, he was very strategic in how he would complete the job. I had doubts with all of the stuff we had but trusted his knowledge and experience and he exceeded our expectations! They take care of your items, asked a lot of questions and consistently checked in on if there was anything else they could help with. Raul, not sure if we could have done this move without you!! Thank you so much and than you Gorilla movers!! -Jackie, Marty, and Liz”
