Many neighborhoods (Santa Monica, West Hollywood, parts of Hollywood) require temporary no-parking permits for a truck at the curb; your building manager or city public works office issues them, and we will tell you exactly what length of curb to reserve.

Book the freight elevator for a morning window if your building has one, and ask your new building about move-in hours — many LA HOAs prohibit weekend moves entirely.
