San Diego Warehouse & Industrial Movers

Moving a warehouse is not moving boxes at a bigger scale. It is racking, machinery, live inventory and a dock schedule, and Gorilla Movers has managed that combination across San Diego County since 2008.

Warehouse moves are inventory moves first

The hardest part of an industrial relocation is not the weight. It is the fact that your inventory has to keep shipping while the building empties. We plan warehouse moves in phases, so pick lanes stay live at the old site while racking goes vertical at the new one. Slow-moving SKUs transfer early, fast movers transfer last, and fulfillment never loses a full day.

Every industrial job starts with a free on-site walkthrough. We map what is in the building, how it comes apart, what order it travels in and where it lands, down to the aisle and bay. Walkthrough quotes are binding, so the number your operations manager approves is the number on the final invoice.

Planning, permits and building requirements

Commercial landlords in San Diego expect paperwork before a single pallet moves, and we arrive with it. A certificate of insurance naming your landlord or property manager as additional insured is standard on every job. We schedule dock time at both buildings, protect floors and door frames, and stage the move so trucks are never idling while a dock sits blocked.

Racking gets reinstalled plumb, level and anchored per your engineered drawings. Where the City of San Diego or your fire authority requires permits for racking or high-piled storage, we work from your approved plans and coordinate with your engineer of record so inspection day is uneventful.

Why San Diego warehouses call Gorilla

We have completed more than 25,120 moves since 2008, and every crew member is our own background-checked, uniformed employee. We never send day labor to run your forklift aisle. We hold CAL T-192729 and USDOT 3801918, carry a BBB A+ rating and a 4.8 star average across 289 Google reviews, and you get a live-tracking text on move day so you know exactly when the truck hits your dock. We also donate $5 from every move to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, because the name is not just a name.

FAQ

Warehouse & Industrial questions, answered.

Can you move our warehouse without shutting down operations?
Usually, yes. We phase the move so receiving and shipping stay live at one site while the other comes online, and we can run nights and weekends to keep business hours untouched. The walkthrough is where we build that sequence with your operations lead.
Do you tear down and reinstall pallet racking?
Yes. We dismantle top down, transport, and reinstall to your engineered drawings with anchors torqued to spec. If your new layout needs permits or engineering, we work from the approved plans. Racking-only projects are also available as a standalone service.
Can you move forklifts and heavy machinery?
We move forklifts, pallet jacks and machinery within the limits of skates, jacks and ramps, which covers most warehouse equipment. If a piece genuinely needs a crane or specialized rigging contractor, we will tell you at the walkthrough, not on move day.
How is an industrial move priced?
Quotes are hourly unless we do an on-site survey. Binding quotes are locked in with a free on-site survey, which we strongly recommend for warehouse work. Fuel is charged and itemized up front, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Can you work after hours or on weekends?
Yes. Many San Diego industrial moves run evenings, weekends or in overnight windows to protect production and fulfillment schedules. We plan crew size around your deadline, not the other way around.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes, COIs for buildings are standard. We can name your landlord, property manager or GC as additional insured and typically turn certificates around the same day you request them.
