What does white-glove moving cost in San Diego?
White-glove work is not a surcharge added to a normal move, so it is not quoted from a room count over the phone. The price follows the labor the house actually needs: how much has to be crated rather than blanket-wrapped, how far the truck stages from the door, how many flights or exterior stairs sit between the two, whether a gate or an HOA limits the move to a set window, and how much of the placement happens to a designer's plan instead of a general instruction about which room.
That is why every white-glove job starts with a walkthrough rather than a questionnaire. We price crating, protection, staging, and placement as line items you can see, and a walkthrough quote is binding: it is locked before move day and it does not move afterward. Phone estimates are hourly and we say so plainly, because a number given without seeing sixty exterior stairs is a guess that somebody pays for later.
Do you receive and install deliveries from designers and vendors?
Yes, and on a staged install it is usually the larger half of the job. A furnished home rarely arrives at once. Pieces come from ten vendors across three weeks, half of them freight carriers who will leave a crate at the curb and drive away, and somebody has to take delivery, open it, confirm it is the right piece in the right finish, and report damage inside the claim window.
Our Miramar warehouse receives, inspects, photographs, and stores those deliveries until install day, so you find out about a cracked stone top in week one rather than on the morning the room is meant to be finished. On install day everything travels together, gets unwrapped in place, and the crating and packing debris leaves with the crew the same day.
How do you move a large estate that will not fit in one day?
Large homes are staged, not rushed. We split the move across consecutive days by room and by category: crated and high-value items on their own day with a smaller, senior crew, bulk furniture and everyday contents on another, and art, wine, and safes scheduled individually where handling or access demands it. The same crew lead runs every day of the job, so nothing depends on a handover between people who have not met.
Where the two homes do not line up on the calendar, and they often do not, contents go into climate-controlled or private-vault storage under one inventory rather than being scattered across whatever space was available. You get one document that says where everything is, and the same crew brings it back out.
