The half-day purge: touch everything once
With days instead of weeks, decluttering changes character. Forget sentimental deliberation, set a timer, work one room at a time, and give every item one of three fates: toss, donate, or pack. No 'maybe' pile. The maybe pile is where last-minute moves go to die.
Broken and expired things go straight to the bin. Donatable clothes and household goods go into bags in your car trunk immediately, and get dropped at a donation center on today's errand run, not 'later.'
