The last round closed in December 2024. There is no open application, and nothing on this page is a live deadline. If we open another round it will be announced here first, so this is the page to check rather than an email list to join.
Everything below describes how the scholarship worked, kept up so a student planning a year ahead knows what would be asked of them.
Who it was open to
Students enrolled in, or about to begin, study in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia. There was no application fee, and no requirement to have moved with us or to have used a moving company at all.
What the essay had to do
One essay of about 1,200 words on a topic of your choice. It had to be your own work, written for this, and not published anywhere else. Clean grammar counted, because a scholarship awarded on writing is awarded on writing.
Put your full name and mailing address, your email, a current phone number and the name of your school at the top right of the document, then send it through the contact form.
How long the decision took
Two weeks or more after the closing date, and longer if the volume was high. Results were posted on this page rather than sent out individually.
