The short version

Gorilla Movers provides white-glove moving in Encinitas, including Olivenhain, Leucadia, Encinitas Ranch, and the coastal neighborhoods off Neptune and Coast Highway 101. Encinitas covers a wider range of property types than any other luxury market in the county: Olivenhain is semi-rural with lot sizes from half an acre to five acres, equestrian properties, long private drives, and a community dark-sky policy that limits outdoor lighting, while the coastal side is dense, narrow, and parking-constrained. We scope each on its own terms, stage shuttle vehicles where a private drive will not take a full truck, build custom crating for art and stone, and finish daylight work in Olivenhain rather than running a crew after dark. Call 619-600-5000 for a walkthrough.

Olivenhain is a rural move inside a coastal city.

Olivenhain does not behave like the rest of Encinitas. Lots run from half an acre to five, houses sit well back behind long private drives, and many properties are equestrian with barns, tack rooms, and outbuildings that hold more than the main house does. A move here is closer to a Rancho Santa Fe estate job than to a beach-town move.

Two practical consequences. First, a loaded full-size truck frequently cannot get down or turn around on a private drive, so we stage and shuttle. Second, the community operates a dark-sky policy restricting outdoor lighting, so working a crew late into the evening is not the answer to running behind. We schedule for daylight and staff the job to finish in it.

The coastal side is the opposite problem.

Down in Leucadia and along the streets off Neptune and the 101, the constraint flips from acreage to inches. Lanes are narrow, parking is scarce, the eucalyptus hangs low over several of the older streets, and some of the bluff properties put the living space below the road.

That is a staging and protection job rather than a logistics one. Floors get papered, runners laid, and the carry path planned before the first item moves, and where the street will not take a large truck we bring a smaller one.

Private-drive access assessed and shuttles staged where needed
Daylight scheduling in Olivenhain, consistent with the dark-sky policy
Barns, tack rooms, and outbuildings inventoried separately
Custom crating for art, mirrors, chandeliers, and stone tops
Floors papered and banisters padded at both properties
Climate-controlled storage between escrows

Do you move barns, tack rooms, and outbuildings?

Yes, and on an Olivenhain property they are frequently the larger half of the job. Outbuildings get walked and inventoried separately at the quote, because a barn that looks incidental from the driveway routinely holds more volume than a bedroom wing.

We do not transport livestock. Everything else on the property, tack, equipment, feed storage, workshop contents, and the contents of buildings people forget to mention until move day, is scoped at the walkthrough so it appears in the quote rather than as an overage.

FAQ

White-glove moving in Encinitas, answered.

Our Olivenhain driveway is long and unpaved in places. Is that a problem?
It is a planning question rather than a problem. We look at the drive at the walkthrough and decide whether a full-size truck can make it down and, importantly, turn around at the top. Where it cannot, we stage on a paved road and shuttle to the house.
Can you work into the evening to finish?
In most of Encinitas, yes. In Olivenhain we plan around the dark-sky policy and the genuine lack of lighting on those roads, which means staffing the job to finish in daylight rather than pushing a crew into the dark on an unlit private drive.
Do you handle equestrian properties?
We move the property contents, including tack, equipment, feed storage, and the contents of barns and outbuildings, all inventoried separately. We do not transport animals; that needs a specialist livestock hauler and we are happy to say so.
Are the Leucadia streets too narrow for your trucks?
Some of them, particularly the older lanes with low eucalyptus overhead. We check clearance and width before assigning a vehicle and shuttle with a smaller truck where the street demands it.

Gorilla movers did a fantastic job moving my mother in Oceanside. Raul was incredible. From the moment he arrived, he was very strategic in how he would complete the job. I had doubts with all of the stuff we had but trusted his knowledge and experience and he exceeded our expectations! They take care of your items, asked a lot of questions and consistently checked in on if there was anything else they could help with. Raul, not sure if we could have done this move without you!! Thank you so much and than you Gorilla movers!! -Jackie, Marty, and Liz

I recently moved from downtown San Diego to Rancho Bernardo with Gorilla Movers, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The team arrived on time, came fully prepared, and handled everything with a high level of professionalism. Moving out of downtown can be tricky with traffic and building restrictions, but they managed everything smoothly without any issues. They were very careful with my furniture, wrapping and protecting everything properly, and nothing was damaged during the move. What I appreciated most was their efficiency. They worked quickly but never rushed or cut corners. Communication was clear the entire time, and the pricing was fair with no surprises. Overall, it was a stress free move, and I would definitely recommend Gorilla Movers to anyone looking for a reliable and professional team.

What took me at least 8 hours of painstaking work took them less than 2. Makes me wish I used them for the loading AND unloading. Raul and Hazael were so quick and nice and communicative throughout the entire process. Makes things easier on yourself by using them if you need to move at all. It’s well worth it.
